Speed Trance with John Cerbone & Richard Nongard
This was an interesting video, however i felt that it was longer than necessary, and repetitive in places, especially with the video clips. The overall video quality was not polished technically. The style of presentation was with two presenters and a flip chart, with video clips throughout. It becomes apparent that both presenters live and breath hypnosis and often jostle for camera time. You can tell that they actually care about the people they hypnotise, giving therapeutic bonuses to the hypnotic subjects.
The DVD was an adequate ‘ very very brief ‘ introduction to speed inductions / stage hypnosis with safety considerations. The actual speed inductions where explained and broken down at the end of DVD 2, however i felt that they where rushed through a little at the end. Having said that, the procedure was clear enough, and they gave you a new kinaesthetic induction as a bonus.
The mechanics of speed inductions was explained adequately together with various deepening processes. The dvd was worth getting to see John Cerbone’s fast therapy methods on different subjects to bring about therapeutic change in a stage style setting. A method of encouraging compliance from the very beginning and to leaving them feeling good, about the trance experience. It was interesting to see how he breaks through resistance, using different methods on the fly.
I felt the section on safety while handing your subject using this style of induction was a little long, however as they stated, it was the most important part of the whole product. It is worth getting this dvd, just to keep yourself from ruining your reputation or worse, using this style of induction on stage etc.
If you want an in depth detailed look on these subjects, then look elsewhere, however expect to pay more. If you want a general hypnosis product, then this dvd may be for you. If you want to learn the mechanics of John Cerbones inductions, this is for you. If you want to see John Cerbone doing a good Arnie impression, then it’s for you. All in all a fair product that tries to be all things, something which it could never do justice to, in a 2 disc DVD.
